Our communities are growing more and more isolated along ideological lines, and this is often no less true in church communities. The great problem with cultures dividing on ideological lines is that the people we disagree with gradually become caricatures, rather than living, breathing people. As a church, we need skeptics around us to ask the tough questions, to not let us sink into blind faith, but to foster a rich, robust faith. Likewise, skeptics of Christianity need to engage not only with other skeptics, but with the flesh and blood people who have more robust reasons for believing than what Dawkins and Hitchens generally present. Parkside Church is not only a safe place to explore the Christian faith, but to also engage in meaningful conversation that challenges everyone.
