Parkside Church is not a building, a meeting place, an idea or even a vision. Parkside Church is people - people from all kinds of backgrounds and beliefs, some who have a faith built up over years, and some who are wondering if Jesus really is the savior they need, some who are going through times of pain and doubt, and some who are in the highs of life, some who are younger and some who are older, some who are richer and some who are poorer, some who are trying to figure out how to parent young children, some who have been down that path before, some who navigate military ships, and some who are navigating the beginnings of a career.
Parkside started as a church plant of Harbor Presbyterian Church, whose founding pastor, Dick Kaufmann, worked with Tim Keller to plant Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. We are a part of the Redeemer City to City network. And we are a part of the Presbyterian Church in America, a denomination founded with a commitment to Biblical faithfulness, global and local mission, and sound theology for all of life.
We come from all over San Diego and try to be active in the places where we live, work and play. We meet on Sundays at a school in South Park and want to be a blessing to this great neighborhood - in truth, beauty and goodness. We are not a people who has it all together, but we believe that God is at work transforming us, by the power of the gospel, day-by-day.
